J. Yoder and J. Decety si occupano di capire il modo in cui il nostro cervello affronta il tema della giustizia.  Sembra che la giustizia sia un reame della ragione, e non dell&#8217;emozione. Pi\u00f9 di un secolo fa William James indicava la scelta etica come uno degli esempi pi\u00f9 notevoli di capacit\u00e0 di selezione del cervello umano. Oggi sappiamo, grazie allo stesso James, ma pi\u00f9 recentemente grazie agli studi di Antonio Damasio e di altri scienziati interessati alle emozioni, che l&#8217;emozione ci dota di uno straordinariamente avanzato meccanismo di scelta. Ci saremmo dunque aspettati che nell&#8217;affrontare problemi etici, terreno di artisti e poeti, dovessimo fare un uno intensivo di tale meraviglioso meccanismo.
